I found it interesting that later models of the R3350 turbo compound
engine gave up to 3000 hours of service in airline use.

Early non-turbo compound versions used in the B29 were lucky to get 100 hours.

Paul, have you ever looked at the oiling system and the bearings and crank.
They used ball/roller bearings and some engines used a multi piece shaft.

Yep. Those old radials were very interesting.

I studied the R3800. It has an oiling system that I was familiar with.
Chevrolet built a lot of those engines, and the V8 chevy engines use an oiling system
just like that.
