What is the best sealant to use between the oil pan and the engine?
I have an oil leak between the pan and the engine, especially when
parked nose down.
I used the Mazda gaskets both above the 1/4 aluminum plate and below.
They are squeezing out in places, so I think next time I will not use
the gaskets, but want to use a good sealant so I don't have to do the
job twice.
I know RTV won't last a minute near fuel, and probably is not oil
resistant over time either.

The only thing I know about is Hylomar. Widely used in race car
transmissions.
I think the fundamental problem is flexing of
the motor mount sandwich plate. Not something I would use.
Not only does it flex from applied motor mount loads but
you have two long distance line oil seals instead of only one.
Twice the opportunity to leak.
I know you are not using this idea on your new motor mount.
How is it coming?
Here are some drawings of Perry's new Long Eze mount design.

When I spoke to Dave Atkins, he said to only use the BLACK silicone RTV on
the oil pan.....he said to never use the red. He said his has withstood the
test of time. For what it's worth. Paul Conner
