Del and all,
I have been looking at combining the augmentor and muffler for a
long time. My proposed design is a tube within a tube with air coming from
the backside of the radiator and oil cooler exiting through the inner tube
and around the outside of the outer tube. The space between both tubes is
the muffler cavity with baffles or passages that ultimately exit into the
center of the inner tube pointed aft (perhaps small venturi stacks). I
don't know if this makes sense or will work but I am currently building the
airframe and are close to starting engine mounting design. Charlie
Airesman has perfected exhaust augmentation on his Vari EZ with a soob and
is currently modifying a Cozy III to 13B power. I will keep you
posted. If you have any ideas I am interested. Maybe we
could build one
for the dyno.

ailerons-
I thought of that and someone on this newsletter rightfully pointed out that you wouldn't want the oil cooler leaking onto a hot exhaust pipe. It would be as spectacular as it would be unpleasant.
