?   I was wondering about the feasability

of making up a set with

short heavy duty stainless steel headers, then attaching with

stainless

steel flex exhaust tubing

(to prevent vibration cracks), to the main in the cowling

muffler. Any

thoughts/ suggestions are

certaintly welcome.  Thanks in advence for any and

SQ2000 with 13B under construction

I'm in the process of building my exhaust and am looking at using the

304 SS exhaust bellows from  JC Whitney. they are thicker than the SS flex
pipe that you are suggesting. Also you might want to look at the wide SS
exhaust band clamp ($7.95) from JC Whitney. I think that the most important
thing in designing an exhaust for this engine in an aircraft is to build a
good all- enclosing heat shield. I want to build one that completely
encloses the exhaust system. It would have cooling air introduced to keep
the temperatures down a bit. This enclosure would add a huge measure of
safety in case of an exhaust pipe failure. JC. Whitney also has 6" dia ss
flex pipe, which might be useful in making an exhaust shroud.
