        I agree. As one pulse travels through the collector it's inertia
        causes a low pressure pulse in the other pipe which of course
        increases the exhaust flow out of the other rotor 180 degrees
        out of phase.

        OK, I surrender - how humiliating!!!  Guess I didn't know what I was talking about after all.  Makes me wonder what other 'motorhead' stuff that I have had wrong all these years.  Oh well, at least my 2-stroke knowledge seems to have been accurate so far!
