If the engine is being force fed, it is a good idea. Keeping the oil from
absorbing heat out of the (now cooler) rotor is a good thing. On NA engines,
I think there would be a power loss. The ceramic will not conduct heat into
the rotor, and it would therefor seem to me that the ceramic surface would
operate at a higher temp than would the uncoated rotor. I just do not see the
need on an unsupercharged engine. Keeping the rotor bearings cool is what the
goal is. In aircraft use, where 6000 to 6500 RPM is common, is actually ideal
from the rotor bearing load standpoint. The downside is that race cars have a
duty cycle that is well below 100%. Aircraft engines are closer to 100%.

I hope to have time to install several lights on my duplicate dash in my race
car. I record engine data for later review by making a movie of the dash
during the on track sessions. A good idea for the first flights of airplanes.
I want a light to tell me when the throttle is at full throttle, just off of
full throttle and fully closed.
