Paranoid perhaps, but then again I watched a fellow strip his finished wings after improper use of
a shrinking undercoat.  On the other hand, a water born primer would be a lot easier.

I use Poly-Fiber smooth prime.  It is water based, white, fills pinholes
well, UV protection and sands like chalk.
