Hybrid cars are barely more efficient overall (city & highway)
than the same chassis with a small internal combustion
engine yielding the same acceleration and more top speed
replacing the heavy  motor generator set/batteries. Not only
that the car winds up with more usable internal volume. Expensive
to make hybrid cars are merely a placebo to the wackos.

I don't like it you calling my wife wacko Paul:) She bought Toyota Prius and
I drove it home. Liked it so much, (51MPG @65 MPH) I was ready to go back
and get one for me. Very nice car comparing to my '87 10 MPG Cadillac
