Do you know the weight savings in the new RX8 Mazda engine? As I am thinking in using it (instead of a turbine) in a rotorcraft application, every pound saved counts . Also, what is the maximum HP that the RX8 can give in a continuous operation, as a helicopter may need.

Also, I heard that Velocity is thinking in producing a twin pusher. What do you think of a Velocity with two RX8?

The quoted RX8 weights have been very misleading as Mazda has been comparing
the NA RX8 engine with the third gen 13B turbo engine. There is no difference
in the basic weight.

I think a twin RX8 Velocity would climb really well and burn a lot of
fuel :)
