Item Description:
You are bidding on a new and unused (still crated) GIAE110 (Black Hawk) fuel injected Wankel type Rotary aircraft engine. These engines are designed and built specifically for aircraft use by MidWest engine, part of the Diamond aircraft company. In Europe, the carbrator version of this engine is Type Certified.
The engine being sold is a fuel injected (non-certified) version that runs on 100LL or Mogas. The engine is a dual rotor engine weighing approximately 121.9lbs. It is fuel injected, has a dual (redundant) electronic ignition system with Engine Control Unit (ECU), dual spark plugs and puts out a maximum 105hp. It has a geared reduction drive gearbox for the prop that also incorporates a vacuum pump drive.
The engine is supplied fully assembled with starter motor, 18 amp alternator, all filters and both Operating & Installation Manuals. The only time on this engine is the bench testing carried out at the factory.
Previous installation of this engine have been made to Katana, Kitfox, BD5, Mini500 helicopter and various RV's. The engine is exceptionally quiet and smooth, with almost no vibration when running.
The engine uses a combination of air and water cooling and has a spider style rear mounting system that uses Lord Mounts to attach the engine to the engine mount. Approximate dimensions are Length 30 inches, Height 17 inches, Width 23 inches.
There is no official TBO for this engine, however, MidWest recomend 1500 to 2000 hours for internal inspection and Rotor Tip Seal replacement.
The purchase price for this engine from MidWest is just under $13,000. You could get this one for just over half price.
