I was merrily working along on jigging up my manifold to the injector
holders, and was going to
take it to the welder tomorrow. But earlier today I asked Chrissi for
some photos of her metal
removal on the manifold, and she did an excellent job, removing almost
1-1/2 pounds of aluminum.
After seeing her results, I realize that I need to go back and grind
some more.
The jigging should still work, just will be easier to grind if I don't
have the welding done yet.

my welder clamped the cast portion of the manifold (I am using part of the
original) to a very heavy piece of steel beam and heated it with a torch
before welding, all to reduce warping. your jig would definitely catch
fire, but perhaps you were going to simply reface it afterwards. my 3 rotor
was welded with no noticeable warping. your pipes do look beautiful.
