Hi Paul/Gang;

Finally, back home (Yesterday) from S-N-F and from closing a rather large
project which as most of you know I've been involved with for quite some time.
(This time I'm REALLY retiring DOESN'T MATTER what else may happen next)

Was very nice meeting a lot of you in person at S-N-F......The LAEV was very
popular throughout the 5 days I attended, especially by the BANGER (piston eng
users) as they went nuts over it. I was practically a prisoner at the Engine
Tent from early in the day to closing.

Bill Freeman (For the "Newbies", he's the designer of the Blades) spent a lot
of time with me and was extremely pleased with the end product....Met his
brother also (He's a Test Pilot for the big boys), who made a very valid
suggestion in relating to control of Pitch operation.........More on this later.

Always nice to see Ed & Chuck (Anderson/Dunlap), they have become icons and
great Ambassadors of the Rotary Aviation movement.......They are CONTINUOUSLY
re-doing, tweaking and staying on top of their ships..........Ed, I received
your great question on the LAEV and I'll be answering it on the ACRE NL site
for the benefit of all who are interested/concerned of the LAEV design Matrix.

Also got to meet and talk to Finn, who's a dynamo of energy overflowing with
ideas, solutions, eager to move on and stuffing life to its fullest capacity
(Reminds me of ME).....WAY TO GO FINN!!!!....Just "WATCH" yourself.

Attended Vance's Forums and was able to spend some time with him throughout the
convention. A delightful and soothing person to be with......Literally a well
traveled and a walking Technical Encyclopedia to boot :) Thanks for giving me
some of your time Vance.

Had the pleasure to finally meet, converse and listen to a well known
Rotary/Aviation legend, Allan Tolle...A very energetic and interesting man, to
say the least.
I'm sure that I've omitted a lot of you, whose company was greatly enjoyed by
both Linda and I......I ask your forgiveness, as I will start to remember just
as soon as I press the "Send" button or view pictures :(

I've just started to catch-up with the ACRE NL (I'm behind over 250 NLs) and
read some of the "Tracy cheated" topics, so I figure this is a good time for me
to voice my opinion:

The word "Cheating" implies SNEAKING-SCAMMING-DECEITFULNESS-DISHONESTY-
IMMORAL/ILLEGAL......All of which ABSOLUTELY do not describe Tracy Crook other
than maybe his last name, which by the way he had nothing to do with :)
My take on this:
>From the very beginning when I ran into the "RVotter" at Oshkosh (Not Tracy)I
studied it for hours every chance I got to get near it, and concluded that he
was on the right track. Did the same the following year and finally approached
Tracy and simply asked him if he had a copy of his conversion book with him
which he emphatically answered yes!!. I figured it would be better for him if I
read about it first and ask questions later. The following year when I
officially met him I really had NO questions to ask, as I knew that this was
only the beginning, and there will be a lot more following in the future.......
And sure enough there certainly has been.
As most of you, I learned early on of Tracy's auxiliary cooling method while
taxiing, that of spraying water periodically to his rads/evaps with great
results.....This I've considered to be a great idea as it offers a viable
solution to overheating taxiing woes and should be implemented by those
suffering from this malady....Are you listening Finn??? (Finn's temperature hit
the ceiling while waiting and taxiing for approximately 20 minutes at S-N-F, he
was cursing like a banshee when he pulled in).
So this being the "Standard Operating Procedure" for the "RVotter" for years
why in heaven's name would anyone change a successfully WORKING operating
procedure especially if you know you'll be pushing your normal boundaries for a
sustained period of time??? .......No one would, it just wouldn't make any good
or safe sense.
Tracy gets all the credit in the world, for once again leading the Rotary
effort with his ingenuity, creativity and GUTS. He has certainly proved that he
possesses a highly polished set of "Brass B---S"......My hat is off to you
Tracy ;)
So therefore on behalf of all of us who believe in and support the Rotary
movement, it is in our best interest to keep the facts straight without
implying or suggesting otherwise.......Tracy won the race FAIR and SQUARE
period.
