At long last the design of the 2.85 : 1 redrive (RD-1C) is complete.
Prototype testing is scheduled to begin in June and if all goes
well,
production units will be available in August.

These are 6 pinion drives provisionally rated at 300 HP continuous.
The
target engine for these drives is the RX-8 Renesis but also useful
for
those
turning long props or running higher rpm on current 13B or 20B
engines.

I currently have 2 confirmed orders for this drive. To encourage
more
2.85
:1 users to order now and help reduce production costs with higher
volume, I
am accepting deposits for the August production run at a $140
discount.
Regular price is $2840.00. A $100 deposit will hold your production
slot.
If you already have one ordered you will get the reduced price.

If for any reason the tests on the drive are unsatisfactory, all
deposits
will be refunded.

Great news Tracy, check's in the mail.

You had talked about hydraulic prop control provisions in the past. Is
this still part of the design?

I have added some changes to make CS possible in the future but it's not
there yet. A previous design of the CS ready RD-1 was scrapped when I found
out that conventional CS props operate on oil pressures up to 1200 PSI !!!.
I had incorrectly assumed they were in the range of normal engine oil
pressures. Back to the drawing board. It will happen someday but not this
week. (gross understatement).

The oil pressure boost pump is in the "Governor".
