Hi, Paul.....I received the cast intake manifold.  I tried every way I
could to make the gasket
line up with the holes, and found that the bottom two holes would be off
the end of the flange.
Then I noted the e-mail from John Slade, stating that he had the same
problem. You replied that
you "screwed up slightly on that version when you tried to save weight,
and that you will add a
little more metal to the flange on the next batch".  Fortunately, I am
not in a hurry for a good
fitting manifold.  I would much rather return this version and wait for
the next batch, as I have
no welding and machining skills nor contacts. I was hoping for a version
like the first batch, or

This manifold and the next batch will not fit the third gen engines
without
extensive modifications. If you cannot make these modifications send me
private
email and I will give you shipping instructions to get your money back.

We have no plans to cast a manifold specifically for the third gen engine
at this time.

If you have a third gen engine and you are thinking of ordering the
manifold don't!

This applies only to the second generation turbo block. You can use the
intake gasket as guide to align the ports and bolt holes locations on the
castings.  BE CERTAIN to take the time and care to place the gasket on your
intake casting with the correct orientation!!

I found after some experimenting, that if you use a Generation II turbo
intake gasket as a guide, that the back and inside of the gasket's
secondary port holes need to be aligned with the back (toward rear) and
inside edges of the secondary port holes in the manifold casting  This
leaves most of the metal to be eventually be removed (to match the block's
secondary ports) to the outside and front edges of the casting's holes.
(This is to fit the secondary block port hole of a second generation turbo
II).

With this alignment, all the bolts holes for the turbo II block fit on the
casting -except for one. The rear hole closest to the front housing was a
close call, but it did fit on the casting. However, the bolt hole to the
front and side closest to flywheel did not completely make it.   Most of its
hole was in the casting  but, approx 15% of the hole was off the casting
(cut through the edge)  - still enough to provide plenty of clamping force
(I used a bent-over washer to cup around the hole).

So while the casting could probably use another 1/8"  of material on the
back edge and 1/4" on the edge closest to the flywheel, I found that with 5
out of the six holes on the casting and most of the sixth one,  the manifold
is quite secure.  FWIW
