Over 8000 third gen 93-95 usa models were sold alone. 1993 was the
biggest year. Many more internationally.

The cars in the states are still selling for about $15,000
so third gen motors are not cheap. That tends to limit the market
for aircraft use.

Paul, there few US second hand engine dealers that import huge

containers

full of very nice used engines from Japan. I know one that goes there

about

every 6 months to pick them himself.

Maybe more than you think, Paul.  I purchased as a core a 94' that was
pulled "in running condiition" w/ approx 90,000 mi for $1600.  Another
project has gotten in the way (motorglider), but I have mostly just been
waiting for the right combination of "off the shelf" parts to become
available.  With the announcement of Tracy's 2.85 PSRU, and your intake
(even if modifications are necessary), a $2000 HKS TO-4 Turbo exhaust
manifold, Jerry's mount, Tracy's ECU ... it is becoming a lot closer to
reality.  I even have dreams of an LAEV prop!

Don't write off us 3rd gen people  .... but I'd gladly trade up to a
RENESIS!

OK five :) Hey if you guys want to pay $300 each I might make five
but not until next fall. While I am at it I might be able to do a modular
pattern that will accommodate a three rotor. The three rotor
casting would be about $450
