Have you read the article by Peter Garrison in the June issue of Flying

magazine (pg 90) titled

Revisiting Rotaries?  He states, "In my opinion, however, the most

promising engine for aviation

use is the Mazda rotary."  Looks like the word's finally out.

I knew Peter was working on the article. Glad to hear it is out.
This is the second rotary article Peter wrote. I have the first one in pdf
form to upload to the web site that hopefully Russell Kent is setting
up as we speak. Peter joined the newsletter four or five years ago
and then was off for quite awhile while he finished his new airplane.
(Continental engine unfortunately :))

Thanks for the heads up. Is it on the newsstand or do you have
a subscription?

BTW that is quite a statement by Peter as he tries to be politically
correct in a journalistic sense and never endorse a product... only point
out its advantages and disadvantages :)  That really is a mind boggling
statement coming from Flying Magazine.

Yes, I have a subscription.  June's copy arrived yesterday.

Last paragraph...
"I hope that the combined efforts and ingenuity of these amateurs will
settle, once and for all, the question of the rotary's suitability for
airplanes.  I suspect that they will find in its favor.  In the meantime
they remain the noblest and most daring of homebuilders, hairy-chested
heroes for whom the evidence that their latest idea was not a good one may
well come in the form of an engine failure just after takeoff.  They
continue undaunted, and their numbers increase.  The world owes them a debt
of gratitude."
