Apparently Mazda totally redid the casting patterns on the end housings
but the rotor housings look pretty much the same. Looks like
a minor mod to block off the old peripheral exhaust port.
I guess they need to still make new rotor housings for those
1.8 million old rotary engines still out there.

Perhaps for all out top RPM power we can use the old rotor housings
and the new end housings with both peripheral and side exhaust ports
and peripheral intakes :) Talk about a heavy breather!
Lots of combinations to investigate on the dyno here.

The six port design looks like it will be yet another intake
manifold casting with the two end housings ports combined into
one large one for aircraft use. I wait with bated (OK Russell?) breath for
Michael McGee to try it on the current six port engine.

The apex seals are back to 2 mm two piece from 2 mm 3 piece.
Thank God for that. I was never a fan of the three piece apex seals.

       Wonder if the RX8 two piece apex seals will fit our 86-95 13B engines?

 I have no idea but two piece seals are available for all engines from 
Hurley Engineering in both 2 mm and 3 mm.
