I am very happy you asked that as there are
some people out there, quite a few in fact, that are attempting
to adapt the existing Mazda dynamic chamber design to their aircraft
engines running at 5500 RPM and above despite my
contentions it is unsuitable for use in aircraft engines.
Paul, I want to pass along some information. In 1972-3 Kawasaki was working on the 903cc Z1 engine. They were trying to find the max NA HP they could get at the time. They found that LARGE carburetors with straight velocity stacks,(bellmouths) and 4 straight exhaust pipes 18 inches long made the most power. They were tuned to 10k rpms. NOTHING worked better. They have their own zillion dollar dyno in Santa Ana and spent months testing and the simplest solution made the best power. The rotary is very different in the way it works but it still functions as a 4 cycle. Most of the same rules still apply. Bill Jepson
Was that a four cylinder four cycle engine? Did they try dynamic chambers?
I suspect a dynamic chamber will work on a four cylinder four cycle engine.
