BTW, Brian Turbee, I agree your approach is simple and less expensive,

but as I understand it, it preserves the same flow path as the stock
filter, i.e.; it is not full flow.  Oil going through the

pressure

control valve to the pan does not go through the filter.

Al, I'll have to check the flow schematic that I have back at home, but 
I think you are right, the oil going through the pressure control valve 
is taken form the upstream side of the filter. This might be protecting 
the oil filter from who knows how high the pressure could get. The oil 
regulator is in effect a pressure relief valve. No big deal if it goes
 back to the pan  unfiltered, as long as the oil to the bearings is filtered. 
I made my remote oil plate from 1/2 or 5/8 inch thick 6061 for nothing more 
than the time it took to drill, tap and cut it, and tap the oil filter mount.

I could be totally off on this, I'll have to get back home tomorrow and 
check the oil flow schematic again. Anyone see any problems with my oil 
flow/remote setup, let me know, I'd rather find out before I get this thing running.
