Sorry about this side-ways step but I'm in need of wisdom. I have a
turbocharged Ford Focus. I'd like to crank up the boost for the
weekend
drags we have. Do you see any issue with running 100 LL (I can
remove and
replace my cat very easy).

Lead will poison the O2 sensor. Running awhile on unleaded will most

detoxify it, but there's never any guarantees. A bad O2 sensor will

the ECU to bugger up the mixture at idle and part throttle (O2 input
is
usually ignored at full throttle operation).

You might want to remove the O2 sensor when running 100LL. The ECU
will
report it as a failed O2 sensor and illuminate the "Check engine"
idiot
lamp. The next visit to the dealer shop or the state inspection
station
might involve explaining why you don't really neeed a new O2 sensor
(since
the ECU log will rat you out).

Thanks Russell,

The stock ECU is no problem (I can clear it with my Autotap
software/hardware) and I have spare o2 sensors. My engine management is
actually via a Pectel T2. I usually crank 20+ psi at the track.

Sounds like I just need to watch out for the lead.

Again, Thanks
