Motor mount / canopy

You need to rotate those rear mounts 90 degrees. There are
high bending loads on those cantilevered long bolts. The main vibration

loads

are vertical in that area and the rubber mount will be softer and better

able

to isolate the vibration. See the ACRE NL web site for some examples of
1/2 inch aluminum plate rubber bushing holders. I'll upload
a few illustrations shortly.

The front mount looks
fine as the loads are minimal and almost anything will work up there.
Each front mount has only about 25 pounds on it. Real soft rubber
bushings should be used on the front mount to minimize the
torque load input. It would be best to have only one in the
center of the engine.

Do you have spacers between the lower firewall mounts and the landing
gear pivot bolts? If not it is a good idea to put them in.

Are you sure your exhaust pipes will clear the mount tubes?

You can use your existing rear motor mount plates just cut them off and

notch

them to accept these rubber bushing holders.

You will also have to modify the apex of the motor mount tubes and weld
on a short piece of 1-1/4 round 4130 .065 wall tubing with a thick
washer welded on top. See the MM_BUCKETS and rubber-mnt-bucket jpgs.

I assume you plan on bracing these mounts diagonally back to
the spar.

That is real surprising and strange about the Netscape. Russell, can you help us
out here? Under Edit>Preferences>Advanced do you have Automatically Display
Images set to "on"? What version of Windows are you using? I run 4.7 under
Linux and it works fine. Little buggy here and there :)

Here is the info on the Barry rubber bushings. The static weight of
about 150 pounds each  is about right for a motor mount located near
the CG of engine/prop/psru combo.
