I ship to Australia regularly (even sent a robot down about 6 months
ago...had to send it in two packages to keep each one below 44 pounds).

The

rate anywhere to Australia from the US for a 2.5 pound package (not an
envelope...and I added the extra weight to be on the safe side ... box,
packing, labels, etc.) by US Post Office Airmail Post is (this is a USPS
postage calculation):

4 - 7 Days
$17.60
Max. length 24", Max. length, height, depth combined 36"

About the only less costly way is by surface letter post, which would be
$7.85, but would take 6 weeks...guess it's sent on a slow porpoise...or

I would like one also, the current exchange rate is not bad it's 67 Aust
cents in the US dollar (however that may change)that makes it $199.50 Aust
(not too bad) plus $23.40 Aust for  shipping - so if I send a cheque for
$230 Aust will that be OK.

Just check that there may be other expenses your end ( like banking
transactions for a foreign cheque) and I don't want you out of pocket. It
would be easier to add the money this end. There is nothing worse than doing
someone a favour and you end up out of pocket as a result.

George, see if you can get an international money order.
Our banks have a much tougher time dealing with foreign currency
than Australian banks. In this country of 250 million tourist
are a drop in the ocean.
