I ship to Australia regularly (even sent a robot down about 6 months
ago...had to send it in two packages to keep each one below 44 pounds).  The
rate anywhere to Australia from the US for a 2.5 pound package (not an
envelope...and I added the extra weight to be on the safe side ... box,
packing, labels, etc.) by US Post Office Airmail Post is (this is a USPS
postage calculation):

About the only less costly way is by surface letter post, which would be
$7.85, but would take 6 weeks...guess it's sent on a slow porpoise...or the
same boat my RX-8 is coming over by...

Patience on the RX8. Rumor has it they are debugging the software in the
new very powerful indeed EFI/IGN computer. Not only will it have OBD II real time
data output as mandated by the wackos at the EPA but CAN protocol local area 
network real time data output as well if you know what that is. Widely used
in trucks.

It will also have the feature of being able to take it into the dealer
and uploading newer versions of the software into the EEPROM.
