Yes, this one is very similar to the Helmholtz approach in the slide
presentation I sent you the URL on. I see they use effective volume as
well, Vd/2(rc-1)/(rc+1) in the equation. I noticed they expressed
disappointment about their results using it. I don't see any indication of
what I have read in several other studies that the Helmholtz resonance freq
should be approx twice the cylinder frequency for best cylinder filling
effect. So the runner length that produces a resonance freq twice the
cylinder freq for best filling would be shorter (by 1/2) than the results
of the equation would imply.
