The starter needs to be spaced out the same as Tracy's redrive so a flat

Ok got you, the drive shaft length - silly me !!

is called for. Put the internal ribs everywhere the flex plate and starter

are not

on about 30 degree increments. Only in the lower half. the upper half will
have the external ribs.

So Paul just clarifying, only the upper half to have external ribs.
These are a job in themselves as they have to be tapered as well.
To save weight I was thinking of reducing the stiffing arch to the minimum
width of say, just wide enough to accommodate a bolt and washer, make it 10
mm thich, radius the edge, and just thicken it up and square off the edges
in theb bolt holes.
A lot of extra work but will start to look like a injection cast.
Butch suggested sharp corners ( stress transfer) for the Mounting Pads, I
can square up these areas if you wish.

The arch can be 5 mm as well. Just where the bolts go make it thicker.
