The 3rd gen is such that the ports are higher up on the block, There is no way I can get the tubes down that low.

Yes I can belive that. I forgot. Are you using the tube bends I sent or are you using the
two inch inside radius RB Wagner pipe bends?

That is about the best you can do. You could cheat a bit and mill some off
the top of the manifold casting. Are you really that pressed for overall engine
height on the Cozy?

Not "pressed" but would like to achieve a clean and compact installation. Canards have terrible prop efficiency due to bumps and
bulges as it is, feeding the prop is going to be important. The scoops & boat tail/cowl flaps won't help.

We are only talking about an inch or two. As far as clean air for the prop
is concerned that is a cross you Rutan pusher people are going to have to bear :)
If I were starting with a clean sheet of paper I would make the landing
gear a lot longer and move the prop aft a couple of feet with a bearing
supported extension shaft. Do you thing there would be a market
for a PSRU with a longer output shaft primarily for pusher
use?

Moving the P51 type cooling air scoop further forward and cutting away the
useless fuselage structure behind the landing gear and below the spar will help.
