I think I suggested this previously - but it was ignored. I though it

was

the best solution at the time but may not have the accommodation for the
bearing - but with a new casing and pully, anything is possible.

Paul,
Messages not kept on that issue, as I thought you considered it a silly
idea. All I said was how about a bearing under the pulley, mounted on the
water pump housing, when one of our chaps here in WA had a problem with the
pulley breaking.
It would add a nice touch to the new housing, eliminating a possible
failure.

Not me. Designing a new cartridge is not cost effective.
With the proper pulley it is a non problem. Ian had the
wrong pulley on there and used only four out of eight possible bolts.
