 why?
I should add that I have very shaky hands. when I attempt to tig weld
I have problems maintaining an arc and controlling the filler rod with much
precision. I thought that a torch might not be quite so critical of my
 condition.

I saw a coot that had parts welded with one of them and during
preflight checks the aileron fell of in his hand do to a weld
breakage.
The weld had no penetration and was just stuck on the surface.
  No substitute for a tig.
