Here is a picture of the motor that I offer to loan you for the water

test.
It was not a USA motor but the good news is that it is really rated at 3
HP
22 amp max at 220 single phase 3450rpm - convertible to 110V but 44amps
is a
bit
intimidating. I think the mount and all would be useable for a dedicated
(long term loan)
pump test driver. The motor is mounted vert as shown and can slide out
to
tension the belt= presnt pullys for a bit under 3x step up driving a 1/2
inch shaft
for moulding blades. You could replace that quill with a pump mount
(just do
not throw away any removed parts. The table top has concrete on the
under
side to
add mass and damping, and you may feel free to drill and screw that
sturdy top for mounting things.

That looks like it will do the job Vance. What size motor shaft? Metric?
Keyway I take it?
I'll probably have to buy some smaller pulleys for 2:1 drive but no big
deal on those.
6900 pump RPM.
What does that sucker weigh? Can you and I lift it out of your truck into
my van? Can I borrow just the motor since I won't be using the rest of it?
Paul Lamar
It has been a while but I guess 3/4 in not metric I'm sure. I think I can
wrassle
it into my truck. I think the mounting could save you some work - but that
is
your choice Vance
OK good just the motor.
Paul Lamar
If you are going to build a mount for it, you might as well include
torque measurement in the mount. After Bill's experience with current
draw in induction motors, it seems unlikely that you can make any valid
assumptions about required power bu using the current draw of the motor.
Charlie England
Good idea Charlie. I'll see what I can come up with.
BTW Charlie what email program are you using? Why does it add so many quote
indicators? What line length does it wrap at?
