Paul,
Latest update of the bellhousing.
You will notice the upper right and two lower ribs (stiffeners) contoured. All have draft (taper) front to back.
The three upper mounting positions have thickener blocks.
The engine mounting sides have square edges.
The 3 lower bolt positions have a drilled pilot hole.
The large circle is the flywheel - however with the draft (taper) the position isn't as critical at the edge, as what the photo
shows.
All mounting positions have the required shrinkage allowance.
Will check at the foundry that all is correct for their requirements before ribs are stuck on permanently.
Internal ribs and stand-offs are not yet complete.
My personal assessment of the 4 o'clock starter mounting position is that it is too tight and I personally will settle for a
3.30 position. I will have to allow mounting blocks for the starter positions - do you still want to try the 4 o'clock position
? It may require two sets of mounting blocks for the proto-type.
I've checked all the bolt co-ordinates and am working on the
starter location co-ordinates. All will be complete when it's time to machine the prototypes
How's it looking!?
George (down under)
Looking good. Starter position is not all that critcal. 3:30 or 4:00
