Vapor lock in a fuel injected system is only a problem if the vapor occurs in
the fuel pump (usually at the pump inlet).  If the fuel pump is fed liquid
fuel, the pressure downstream of the pump generally prevents the formation of
vapor, and any vapor that does form will be injected into the engine (or
returned to the fuel tank in a return system, which the RX-8 has not).  I
dunno if injecting vapor would cause a mometary air/fuel ratio problem.
