I have a couple of questions for everybody. Does anybody live
in a state
that does not have sales tax?
If so what are RX8's going for in your neighborhood?

Paul,
That angle wont work. You will walk out not paying sales tax but will
get hammered as soon as you bring it to the peoples republic. They are
looking for people that do that. You will need to regester the vehicle
in the no sales tax state for several years then you can pay a
percentage of MSRP when you register it in CA. I am an airline pilot and
play this game a lot. Motor Home and luxury cars. Been there done that.
DMV will get you unless you play it out for several years. I bought cars
in Oregon, no sales tax. Sorry to burst the bubble.

Not several years.
I down loaded the rules from the DMV web site and you need 7,500 miles
and 90 days before you can import it into the Peoples Republic
of CA without paying the tax. Doable for me.
Just be sure it doesn't have a 2nd gen 13B under the hood when you get it
back from Perry :)
Who wrote that? Damn, you blew my secret :)

Don't get your expectations too high on the RX8 motor. There are a few features
that I am worried about. Moving the O-rings back to the rotor housing
is one of them. That may be the reason for the SS/Inconel exhaust inserts.
To cut down on heat transfer into the center housing and then into
the rotor housings. The other questionable feature is the thinner wall rotor casting.
A third is the new apex seal design. Paul Yaw is building a turbo version
but I don't know what he is going to use for low compression rotors.
We will have to wait and see how things works out.
