I find it kind of strange people are jumping all over me for the new idea
when they accept this arrangement without question. IMHO kind of strange psychology.

Don't make blanket statements, judgements and accusations just because  
I never said anything, you never proposed that the other
solutions were the end-all  and that it was the only acceptible solution for everyone.
Did you just assume we were going to put venetian blinds on the bottom of our cowl?

This or other solutions may be fine for some people and on some other 
designs, thats wonderful for them but not necessarily our
solution. So just because I DON'T say anything is that implicit approval?

Well then why did you jump all over me for this solution if you were just lurking
around and not participating? :)

Nor do I think I'm the emotional one, I stated my thoughts about this 
being the cooling solution as you see it for all designs,
you on the other hand took it as an attack responded by making 
judgements about my character and will probably continue to do
so.

For some dispassionate person sitting on the side lines you sure had a lot

Agreed, and even if it does cool like nothing else the amount of turbulence 
is unacceptible. We're trying to minimize, not increase
the turbulence. Why do you think people doggedly want to hang onto
their NACA scoops instead of givie them up for a P-51
scoop?... not everybody thinks P-51 scoops are neat looking
on anything but a P-51.

Sure Perrys works but this is not an apples an oranges comparison,
for one feeding his prop is like no other canard.
Paul , you are putting optimal cooling success in front of all 
other considerations and if I were approaching a rotary install for the
first time would pass on the whole idea if this were the best way to 
do it, I don't think people are going to volentarily go for ugly
and draggy turbulent solutions, they are trying to IMPROVE their 
planes not put them in the junkyard wars catagory.
