I was thinking again. Sorry John Slade.

It looks like it might be possible to drive a water pump directly
off the E-shaft as shown in this picture of Racing Beats
1000 HP turbo three rotor.

This will solve a couple of problems. One; the plumbing of the
current pump castings is a bit awkward for rads as the inlet
to the pump faces towards the back of the engine. A 180 pipe bend
will solve this problem of course but it offends my desire to
make things simple.

If we drive the pump off the e-shaft the inlet to the pump will
then face forward making the water pump plumbing simpler and 
more straight forward. It will also eliminate the need to belt 
drive the pump and fab a  mounting bracket for the pump.

We can use the new pump housing casting and do a new cartridge
as the current impeller in the Mazda stock cartridge would rotate in
the wrong direction. A new cast iron impeller is rather easy
for me to make.

I am just in the thinking stage on this and it is well down the road
so don't hold your breath.
