Yep George, Looking real good ;)
George I suggested that the Psru mounting holes on the INSIDE of the
hub, be
simply spot faced, or counter-bored slightly in order to provide a
parallel
surface to the front face of the Psru's mounting surface in order to
prevent
bending stress concentrations at the bolt's root thread.....Instead you
have
machined the WHOLE rear surface, that's all well & good providing you
have
the material to do so (Makes it Lighter), but you must make sure that
the NET
thickness of this mounting hub is not violated.
Butch - I just checked.
I told the guys I needed to retain 13 mm - it's 15 mm
or a tad under.
Paul will kill me for making it too thick and adding extra weight !!
I've read and possess your list of PI's, (Production Improvements) and
at
this time I personally have NADA to add. It appears that you've been
THINKING
and LISTENING very, very well ;-)
Congrat's!!!!..........Real nice job.
Butch
Just keep talking - I will listen !
I turned-up a plug for the (1"centre) hole and mounted the flywheel - it
turned out exactly where I wanted it to be.
I have 2 mm to spare (give or take a tad) at the top of the inside housing.
I will check the mounting on the engine and starter motor mounting to day.
I will also go to the Post Office to-day to get a net weight after the
machining process.
I'm a bit pi....-off about them getting the starter holes wrongly drilled. I
has it welded and redrilled but it doesn't look as nice as it should in
those spots.
It's all part of the prototype process I guess.
