The 89-91 are the best years.  Not all that rare. Probably sold
more of those in the US than the 92-95 3rd gens.
Stay away from the 87-88 they crack much more often.

Are you saying the 87-88 turbo cracks or the 87-88 turbo manifold?
Where should I look for these cracks when I take it apart?
Are these cracks seen with the naked eye?
Will the 89-90 turbo manifold adapt to the 87-88 13B?
Is there a good after market 87-88 turbo manifold?

Both. Yes. Yes. Sure. 
HKS makes several. And there are a selection of useful
after market turbos out there as well. Very expensive compared 
to the stock units.
