Paul, I have another idea for the support of the "cool tube" in the muffler. 
The center tube could be supported at the tail with a small twisted plate 
extension. It would start the swirl in the air feed and the exhaust in 
the can would have already seen its most signifigant energy loss, and 
therefore probably wouldn't melt the thing down. I don't know if I  
can draw the helicial shape in solid works but I think you will get it 
anyway. If getting the twist was too tough, a rod could be supported 
farther down the tailpipe. BTW the muffler I drew shows .1 wall just 
so the walls would show on the drawing. The signifigant dimensions 
are a 4" tailpipe (Just a guess), a 3" cool tube, and a 10" outside 
can dimension which could be made smaller. I'll try to do the 
support and send it along.
