Did I tell you about my time in the Greenville, Alabama Jail during my

trip

to the States, black and white striped Pyjamas, handcuffs, leg-irons,

chain

gang marched to the Courthouse (the next day), paid my US $900.00 fine

and

got the hell out of the State the next day.

Strange as it may seem they actually liked me down there - they don't

see

too many Australians, they had a lot of trouble understanding me

though.

By the way they searched my gear, I figure I'd still be there to-day

if

they

found any drugs or weapons. Nice Chap the Police Officer though!

That added some colour to the trip (in more ways than one), but they
wouldn't give me a copy of the Mug Shots, You'd think for that sort of

money

you'd get a copy.

Well Paul I am a really friendly sort of bloke, when I go anywhere I like

to

meet the people, get a feel for the local flavour and try to be a good
representative of Australia.

Some locals invited me for a drink and I made the mistake of getting on my
bike to ride (just a very small distance) back to my accommodation.

The Police Officer made me do one of those sobriety tests and as I still

had

a bad leg from an accident I couldn't do the straight line so well ( he
wouldn't listen) - so they took me in for a breathalyser test, I must have
been just over the limit.

Mind you it was a Yes Officer No Officer situation, I didn't want any long
term free accommodation down south. The food wasn't too good either.

Like I said it was very colourful !
