George, The particular manifold shown is an unknown quanity.
My personal experience was on RX 2's and RX 7's used as road racers
and autocrossers.
Most of the Webber manifolds we saw had VERY LARGE runners as
far as the engine was concerned the entire manifold was like a big
vacuum plenum. Run very rich they could work well on the top end.
Mid-range sucked and off idle stumble were big problems, which
required you to run the low end even richer, to prevent stalling.
This wasn't just a webber problem. Many set ups were made using 4
barrel carbs which had similar problems. Most were just short
runners with a plenum under the carb V8 style The 4 barrels worked
better on these crude manifolds because the primaries were
small and gave a bit better low end.
If you are doing anything new George get a good fuel injection.
If you don't like Tracy's, Motec makes a good engine management
system with ignition and FI. A bit pricier though. Around 3K
