Not exactly!
What you are doing is using a cast iron slice of the original housing - I'm
suggesting only an insert which is equal to the wear face, to the first seal
diameter.

Paul's suggests a thin section insert, to the first seal diameter.
My suggestion merely takes his suggestion a step further and replaces the
wear face completely(full depth), with an internal insert, to the first seal
diameter.
This would allow for bolting from the other side of the housing.
David McCandles (WA) rang me on this, we try something locally.
The aluminium housing can then be machined out of solid, with a plonk in
wear section - bolted from the other side, into stand-offs.
