Hi Mark,
even if it gets off the ground and you deflect the air down or to the rear,
you still have the torque on the prop. The body will try to go the other
direction if there is nothing to hold it in one direction. Deflecting air
down or to the rear won´t help, even sideways will do nothing to counter the
torque. You need something that pulls against the prop, like a tailrotor or
fan or counter-rotating props!
