I previously stated the 12A oil to water cooler was only used on the
1983 RX-7. I think this is incorrect. In 1984 and 1985, Mazda offered
two different engines in the 1st gen RX-7. The GSL-SE had a
fuel-injected 13B. All the lesser models had the carbureted 12A. I
believe the 1984 and 1985 12A models also had the oil to water cooler.

The 12A's that we have have the oil cooler under the filter, they are
water cooled. One is in an 85.
On the photo of Perry's plane, there was a varieasy that did some stunt
flying at SERFI.
Looked pretty sharp.

I can't think if his name right now, there is an article in the latest
Kitplanes about him. He is from Utah, flies a stock O-235 Long-EZ in
airshows. He was at Arlington this year also.
