I know that exhaust wrap is a bad idea, but was wondering what

your experience has been with ceramic coatings.

Mark, I have had some very good results with Jet-Hot ceramic coatings.
On a new pipe they work great and offer some better appearance. I
noted around 15° improvement in inside cowl temp running racing

motorcycles.

They have a specific high temp (above 1600°) coating that might be
best for use with the rotary. There are several locations put Jet Hot
in your browser. Tell them it is specifically for a rotary
exhaust/turbo. Bill Jepson

Hi Steve, I will chime in. I apologize for not keeping up with the

thread but I have a great ceramic product that currently serpases Jet Hot.
The coating is from Techline coatings. It is the latest and greatest with a
 2000 degree working temp. I use it inside and outside all exhaust. It has
been awesome on exhaust temp control. I will admit that I have had great
success with this on my rotary apps. I still have not chose to use any coatings
inside exhaust that is upstream of turbo on my aviation test engine although
the rest of my engine has been treated with these coatings. Tech line says
there is no problem but I am concerned about long term as well. Aviation and
this coatings do not mix in my eyes for reliabilty at this point. I have used
the coatings in my turbo on my car. So I am being patient. I fully believe in
it. I run the car with hard running  and give 15 min cool down before I grab
pipes by hand.I know it works incredibly well for under cowl cooling. I just
havent established long term. Please be wary about application of the material.
All pipes must be new for proper adhesion of coatings. I have seen photos of
drag pipes that have began to flake which was my concern using a turbo in aviation.
