 Ken,
See my previous message (Ring gear divided by Sun gear +1) for same
 direction rotation of the Sun gear i.e. (74 divided by 34) = 2.17 +1= 3.17.
 Also (78 /42) =1.85+1= 2.85

The 2.17 turns in the opposite direction.
The 3.17 turns in the same direction
The 1.85 turns in the opposite direction
The 2.85 turns in the same direction

Just a simple well documented engineering rule which you can check on the
 Internet.

I am also SURE on the teeth count and the ring gears are not the same NOR
 are they interchangeable (I've checked).

One planetary is driven by the big end of the sun gear and the other
planetary is driven by the smaller end of the Sun gear

Both planetaries are different with the 2.17 having bigger planets and more
 teeth.

Both units are very well made.

To be sure, Ross could have used a GMH planetary, but more likely he got
confused with the ratio, unless he used the Overdrive, which I'm unsure of.

Don't tell me I've got to buy that one as well !!!
 George

   Thank George

I probably had brain fade and it is actually the 1.85 that Ross offered.
I was just talking to a friend that works on transmissions and he
said that the 78 x 42 gear set came from the E40D transmission so
they are not interchangeable.

  Ken
