Group, I really would like to see how they plan to get a 1800 pound
aircraft
to climb at 5000 ft/min with only 450 HP! I would like to know which
magic
physics book they used for those calcs! They list the fuel capacity at
50
gallons. When they convert to turbine the 1 hr max flight time would be
somewhat limiting. Is it real or is it Moller?

Doing the physics; 1800 pounds at 5000 ft per min 83.4 FPS is 1800 times
83.4 FPS is
150,000 ft pounds per second. Dividing by 550 ft lb/sec or one HP gives
us 272 HP
not counting drag and prop efficiency. Assuming the rotor in the duct is
80% efficient
that means 340 HP out of the engine not counting drag. Doing the same
sorts of
calculations on the Moller sky car also makes it look possible.

The devil is in the details of the control system as the Wright brothers,
Moller and
AMV will find out if it ever gets that far.

About the turbo-shaft version, it is very naive to assume that that would be
exactly the same size as this prototype. Due to the lighter weight of the
engine it will of course carry more fuel, and it will incorporate all the
modifications that are necessary.

Where and when are you going to test it Attila? I would like to be there.
