Fred, I mentioned this once before, and have another candidate for you. 
Late model ('03 and '04) Mercury outboard 2 cycles. They are direct 
injected, and the high pressure injectors are set-up for the lower 
lubricity of gasoline. They have 4 and 6 cylinder models, just check 
Pauls firing event charts from the displacement arguements with Vance 
and your set.  They are ported direct into the cylinder head through 
what looks like a second spark plug hole. These engines are also 
designed to run at relativly high rpms all the time too.
