Hello all-

My homebuilt aspirations have taken a sudden turn for the better.  I find myself
in possession of an almost-complete Mustang II.  Besides some finishing on the
airframe, it is suddenly time to get serious about an engine.

I have located a 13b NA engine (1991) which (apparently) recently blew an apex
seal & whose owner has decided not to repair.  Since I can get the engine for
next to nothing, I thought it would be a good candidate to tear down & rebuild
for aviation use.

My question: can I take this NA engine & bolt on an aftermarket turbo?  Any
obvious (to you) reasons why this won't work?

As long as you don't get carried away on the boost. Something like 5 psi
should not hurt. Flat rated of course to as high an altitude as you can.
Or you might be able to get some turbo II rotors since it blew an apex
seal one or more rotors might be damaged. Then you should be able to go
up on the boost.
