IMHO if Power Sport really wanted to help, and I told Ray this five
years ago,
they should sell the bits and pieces necessary to install the rotary.
Get a lot of rotaries flying first any way you can.

IMHO The market is not yet ready for a $27,500 firewall forward rotary
package.
It may be another five years if we are lucky and more people enter
air races with rotaries. When Everett Hatch owned Power Sport he
understood
the synergy between air racing and sales. Klause Saviour LSE is doing
very very well indeed exploiting that synergy. So too does Lancair,
Continental Engines, and Hartzel props.

In the mean time PowerSport could show up on a regular basis at air
shows
around the country. Something they are not doing now.

Paul,
I believe you are right on in this. One very important factor for us,
especially since we are more vulnerable as a commercial enterprise, is
that we must assure the product is completely fool-proof. It is why we
are happy that Dave Atkins is installing our gearbox on the motors he
sells. He can offer a lower cost installation than we can, and it gives
us good proof-of-concept and exposure.

One thing that is true is that financial constraints have kept us from
getting to all of the events we would like to go to. It is a conundrum
because if we spend the money it could kill us, and if we don't spend
it the lack of exposure may kill us. You have motivated me to do my
best to get to the events this summer. I will keep you updated as my
time permits. Maybe I will enter the Sun-100?

BTW: It was a turbo 3 rotor that we tested our gearbox with, and it was
50+ hrs at high power, with no detectable wear in the drive system. Our
2 rotor FWF installed weight is 317 lbs on the RV-6. Our new cowl
design so far has solved our cooling problems, which really only
existed in extended taxiing on hot days anyway. We are testing Tracy's
recommended muffler from Swirl-Tech.

It was 110 last year at Copper State in October no less.
