If PowerSport really wanted to help, they could share their technology.
I, for example, would really like all the P Port details. The end
result of sharing would be that all of us, building and testing,
would be contributing to their product development. The concept is
similar to the open platform development on Linux. Jerry

I am sorry Jerry, but that is where our price comes in. We spent many
thousands of dollars to figure this out. We spent many thousands more
to prove it. I like the idea of Linux, I have been a contributor to
Linux, and I use it myself. Linus Torvalds was willing to give up control
of development on his kernel, but life and death was not a concern for
him and the potential liability problems didn't exist. Our case is more
like Photoshop, if you want to use it you just have to buy it. There
are other P-Port guys out there, maybe they will give their knowledge away?

Tedd the one thing in which I TOTALLY agree with Paul is that if you
want to sell units you must, fly that thing all over the country. You
need to take a hard look at the radiator location since you lose
tremendously by mounting against the firewall. Paul has PROVED
his point here and has often given out the NACA data and SAE papers
to back up what he says.

You are right! And we are taking a hard look at radiator location, our newest
cowls have made accommodations for moving the radiators down below. There
is very little wasted room at the top of the engine. The cowl has only
about a half an inch clearance above the engine. Mufflers are still a
problem. Swirl Tech? We are testing.

PS. Tedd the vans engines are ALL certified, they don't even offer
an non certified version since they are brand new from Lycoming!
Don't try to wriggle around about prices, face facts as we the
customers must. Mattituck, a fairly well known engine builder,
is offering the ASSEMBLED superior TMX IO-360 200 HP engine at
$18,800 and Fadec equipped at $23,900 These are experimental
engines built from certified parts. WRJ

Again, this is a good point but... The rotary is a superior (not Superior :-) )
engine, offers 7.5% more power, runs on cheaper gas, and costs about a dollar
an hour at overhaul as opposed to six dollars plus per hour. (not to mention
the probable need for other intermediate - expensive - maintenance, I know,
I own one.) The list of advantages goes on, but everyone on here already knows this.

Respectfully,
Tedd James
