They had real slick looking tent booth.

The diameter of the internal spur gear PSRU is half the Power Sport and Marcotte
internal spur gear diameters judging by the OD of the housings. They had the gaul
to have it mounted on a six cylinder turbo Subaru 350 HP (or so they claimed) hand
grenade. They had no PSRU's taken apart on display. For all I know there was
     nothing in the housings.

There is no magic in gears. The size required to
transmit a given amount of HP was determined years ago. Furthermore they
were claiming 13 gallons an hour for this engine. 13 gallons an hour is 78 pounds
an hour. Divided by a BSFC . 4 (giving them the extreme benefit of the BSFC doubt)
is 195 HP. Sure if you want to cruise it at 55% power.

Thanks Paul,
I thought that there was a problem there. With the gear size at 1/2 powersport I believe there is no way to have sufficient "beef" in there for high power
output. They were very evasive when I asked about the prop pressurization. Equally evasive when I suggested a 20B with 250HP continuous. There was an
indication they would sell a PSRU for 5k and "help" adapt it.

I am also continually appalled with the BS fuel consumption figures published for most of the auto engine conversions. The only honest numbers I have seen
have come from Mistral and Eggenfellner (Subaru). The simple fact is that you simply don't get something for nothing. Eggenfellner mentions that the reason
they haven't pushed the 2.5 liter WRX turbo engine for aircraft is the very high fuel consumption figures they get when making 250-300 HP.
20-28 GPH is mentioned and that may be optimistic! Several people who have run the supercharger on the Eggenfellner Subaru have talked about taking it off due
to the high fuel consumption when it is used. Their first serious in-flight failure was caused by the supercharger belt coming off and taking out the cam
drive belt. I am sure glad these failures won't be a problem with the Rotary. We simply need to be realistic. The rotary is an excellent engine, not a silver
bullet. My biggest concern is that if the homebuilt industry doesn't weed out the liars we will all be effected with high insurance and possibly Governmental
interference.
